So you have been given the job of best man. The most significant responsibilities of the title are organizing the bachelor party.
You were asked to be the best man because the bachelor has a close connection to you. It should be easy to assume that you likely know the bachelor better than anyone else. You should have a better understanding of what the groom to be would like for a bachelor party. But that doesn't mean you should exclude him from planning. The bachelor is critical for planning the bachelor party.
Talk to the bachelor.
When you speak with the bachelor, ask him who he would like at the party, how they know him, who knows each other and who has kids. Getting an idea of how many people will be there can give you an idea of options as well as cost. If most have kids, it is likely an out of town, or overnight trip won't work. In that case, an ingrown or local party will be best. If most are single and have good incomes, then the sky's the limit. Get a cell number and email for every one of your bachelor's friends.
Making a list
Make a list of at least three ideas that the bachelor would enjoy. There are a lot of unique bachelor party ideas in southern California. Calculate out an estimate of the cost of each concept and a ballpark cost for each person that will attend. Float all three ideas past the perspective guests a see which one they can afford. Keep in mind the price for the bachelor will need to be covered by the people attending.
Strippers
Strippers are not mandatory, but they are a traditional part of every memory. There are two options when it comes to strippers for your bachelor party.
The first and most common is the strip club, tittie bar or gentleman's club. But they have their pros and cons.
Club Pros
- This is the most accessible and knows bachelor party tradition
- There are a lot of clubs in most areas.
- You have a large choice of different dancers to get lap dances.
Club Cons
- Alcohol- some places are dry or BYOB. The gentlemen's clubs that do serve charge high prices for drinks.
- Transportation - you will either need a designated driver or Uber if you are drinking.
- Cover charges to get in
- Limited privacy
The second stripper option is the one I recommend, private party strippers.
A google search for strippers in your town or city should turn up a few agencies. Not all agencies are the same. One way to tell if the girls listed on the website are real is by the number of photos for each dancer. If there is only one image for most of or all the dancers, then there is a high likelihood that those are not dancers. You will have no idea what you will get when ordering a dancer. Look for agencies that have many images of each dancer, as we have on our female stripper pages.
Private Party Strippers Pros
- No transportation needed - the dancers show up at your hotel, house or wherever you are staying.
- Privacy - it is just your group, and the girl's attention will be on your bachelor.
- No expensive drinks. Your place and you can drink whatever
- Many girls will perform shows you won't find in a club.
Private Party Stripper Cons
- Limited to the dancer(s) you request
- May not be someone to break large bills for tipping - so bring dollar bills.
Pictures
Pictures can be an issue. If you don't want to get the bachelor party-goer in trouble, don't be texting, emailing, or posting photos on social media.
My advice is to agree that no one takes any pictures once drinking starts or women or strippers are present. Often images taken at these time have no ill intent but result in lots of problems when they get in the wrong hands.
Alcohol
This should go without saying, but I'm going to tell it anyway. DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE. Choose a designated driver or use an Uber, Lyft, taxi, or limousine service. This is the best way to get to your drinking destinations, or the best option is to drink where you plan to sleep. Nobody needs a DUI or worse to remember.
